i love chinese new year!!!
just a simple statement to express my sentiments regarding this new year. i know some people dislike this day due to the numerous visiting and other thousand and one reasons. but for me i love this day.
firstly, we get to feast on good food during reunion dinner and everyone gets to sit around, chit chat. this is like the very day where i will be updated on the lives of my closed ones. next, another reason is that this is the occasion where i get a chance to have homecooked food. ya guys dun noe how much i missed it, esp when i have been da paoing food home everyday. sianz. homecook food has a warmth and love to it. and it always taste better, i dun noe why! better appreciate the homecooked food ya guys have now!!!
next, is the shallow reason of new clothes and more money!!! this is the best reason to get new clothes and add in more stuff to the wardrobe. i am a bit pantang as i will definitely wear my new clothes on new year. gives me a feeling of a new beginnning and a fresh start. and my theory on ang pows is that it is a way of getting money without having to work hard for it. most imptly, at this age of mine, it is the best way to enjoy this source of income. we are big enough to appreciate this extra money and without overspending them. and we wun feel paiseh for taking this sum of money as we are not working nor that old yet. =)
another reason is that this new year is a well-deserved break for me from school. i can catch up with my mountainous level of homework and chill out. get some sleep and rest which i seriously lack. and watch tv. haha, hopefully i will not be too distracted by the tv and forget all abt my work.
lastly, this is the season to catch up with relatives and friends. it has been a long time since i talk to my numerous cousins. this is a good time to see how they are doing and chit chat with them. can't wait to see them!!! =)
